 DAY 2 - TRAVEL - 9 SEPTEMBER 2024

Leaving Brisbane at 0150 hours is not for the feint hearted.  Thankfully the departure was on time, however, shortly after levelling out, we were served “breakfast”. That was so strange.  We did however manage to get a good sleep and felt quite refreshed when we arrived in Dubai.

It was a very short stop over.  By the time we got through the security we had about 30 minutes in the lounge before we were boarding for London.  I still think that the A380 is the best plane! The décor is fantastic and there is so much room. It is so big that the flight is smooth. However, the fun started just as we pushed away from the terminal.  We stopped in the middle of the taxiway.  Then the captain told us that there was a sick person on board. Half an hour later we went back to the terminal whilst they arranged for medical staff to attend and take the person to hospital. Then we waited for their luggage to be found and taken off the plane. The whole process took one and a half hours, and we eventually left Dubai.

Still, the A380 is a great plane. it is very comfortable, and the staff were great.

There is a lot of room on the A380

The food was just amazing and there was a big selection on the menu.  We spoke to some to the attendants and that they were from all over the world. On our flight they were from Japan, Ireland, England, Egypt and they are based in Dubai.  Unlike other airlines where attendants fly the same route all the time, they can be sent on anywhere.  They really enjoy their job.

Then we arrived in London and the fun continues.  The plane door would not open and so that took a while to sort and then the passengers on the upper deck had to walk down to the lower deck to leave the plane.  We eventually arrived safely at the hotel.

The trip continues.
