Day 28 - Kirkwall to the Isle of Skye - 5 October 2024
Today is all travel. The ferry left at 11:30 a.m. and so we arrived about one hour early to ensure our documentation was correct. The trip to the mainland was 1 hour 45 minutes but we then had about a four hour drive to reach the accommodation.
This ferry is smaller than the one we were on travelling to the Shetland Islands. It has a very small kitchen and only a small selection of food. We found a comfortable chair and read.

The trip to the accommodation was fairly uneventful. We stopped for petrol and a quick break but continued. As we drove along, we past The Old Man of Stor which is one of the main attractions.

Then we arrived at an amazing house on the side of a lake. It is picturesque and very quiet.
